A Typical Thursday Night
UBFM - Des Moines runs 8 routes every Thursday night, unless the Des Moines schools have been closed due to weather. When the weather is above 42°F most of our routes are run on bicycles and a couple from cars. Below that temperature, all routes are run from cars. There are opportunities to ride most of the routes in chase cars year round.
Routes range from as few as 3 or 4 miles to as much as 10 or 11 miles
Four riders needed to run a bike route
Bikers need a bike, a helmet, lights, and something to carry food and other items in (backpack, panniers, trailer)
Route leaders will guide you with directions
